COMMUNITY CLUB MEETING!

The first Monday of even months at the community center. Our next meeting will be Monday October 5 at 6:00 p.m.

We will have a light potlock meal.

Everyone is welcome!

The community club met on August 3. At this meeting, it was recommended that we submit the purchase of a generator for the Marne community center to the Laken Foundation. This could be used as a cooling station in extreme summer heat or a warm place to stay if power goes out in the winter.

All the suggestions received will still be considered for future grants we may recieve.

Golden Hills RC&D and Pottawattamie County Trails Association are currently working on A Great American Rail Trail (GART) feasibility study to identify the best route in, and areas immediately adjacent to, Pottawattamie County.

We are invited to attend their meeting to gather feedback and discuss this project in person.

Review of the study, discuss our section of the trails map and gathering feedback will be part of the meeting.

All members of the Marne community are encouraged to offer input and/or attend the meeting.

Community Can Drive

Bring your cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles to the Marne redemption bin. We take the items to the local redemption site for cash that goes into the Marne Community Club. These funds have helped curb the cost of new picnic tables, city wide meals, fireworks for the 4th of July and many other projects!

Keep in mind…only cans and bottles that have IA on them are acceptable.
