Have you heard people talking? Neighbors are noticing how nice Marne is looking! Clean up day was a huge success! Two rolloffs were filled! Yards are still being cleaned up! It’s a great thing to be proud of our town!

In May’s City News, we learned about our neighbor, Molly Cranston!

The first person who correctly answers this question and emails it to DebbieSMcBee@gmail.com will win a homemade treat!

How long has Molly lives in Marne?

We need your ideas! The community club wants YOUR input for suggestion for the next Laken foundation grant! Last year we had the sign installed to keep us updated on events.

A few folks have mentioned a few ideas. We can always use more!

Suggested so far are:

Walking trails around the park.

Industrial exercise equipment at the park.

A dog park.

What do you think would help improve our community? Send your ideas to DebbieSMcBee@gmail.com or talk to Tonia, Kenner, Jamie, Debbie or Matthew.

Community Can Drive

Bring your cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles to the Marne redemption bin. We take the items to the local redemption site for cash that goes into the Marne Community Club. These funds have helped curb the cost of new picnic tables, city wide meals, fireworks for the 4th of July and many other projects!

Keep in mind…only cans and bottles that have IA on them are acceptable.

Community Spotlight

Meet Susie (Opbroek) Fusselman!

and her dog Lucy!

What are some of your fondest memories of Marne?

How friendly everyone is. It is a small community.

What is your favorite food or meal?

Steak, of course. Can’t afford it these days.

What are a couple of things people would be surprised to know about you?

How independent I am! Maybe they already know that. That I am a true homebody!

What is one thing you wish you could learn to do?

Not to be such a clean freak!

Where were you before Marne?

My X husband and I lived in Anita.

When you were a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

A mother and a nurse. Got one right!
