Guess who is having a big birthday this month??

Dasia Baxter is turning 18 on May 14!

Be sure to tell her happy birthday when you see her!

Community Can Drive

Bring your cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles to the Marne redemption bin. We take the items to the local redemption site for cash that goes into the Marne Community Club. These funds have helped curb the cost of new picnic tables, city wide meals, fireworks for the 4th of July and many other projects!

Keep in mind…only cans and bottles that have IA on them are acceptable.

Time for spring cleaning!

Marne’s clean up day is scheduled for Friday May 8.

Haul your unwanted stuff to the alley, and volunteers will pick it up.

There will be a fee for Appliances, TV’s and Tires.

Items need to be in the alley, ready to go no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 8.

Volunteers are needed to help pick up items, and if you have a pick up or trailer it would be great!

Spring is here! We are forming a Cass County Running and Walking group.

All ages and abilities are welcome!

In May, events will be held on Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday Mornings at 8:00 a.m.

Meet at Schildberg Receation area (West of the lake) by the pavillion.

If you have any questions regarding this group, call/text Matt McBee (712) 268-4207

Lets get moving!!!

Easter Egg Hunt fun!

May will be busy with Mother’s Day, Graduations and family events. So, the community club will take a pause for this month of community activities.

We would like to recognize our graduates in the May webpage.

Please email Debbie (DebbieSMcBee@gmail.com) so we can brag on your graduate!

If you would like to include their picture, along with their name, where they are graduating from, extra curricular activities they have participated in, what future plans they may have…that would be great!

  2. What advice would you give your younger self?

Slow down, enjoy the small things. Visit family more often. Take more walks.

My family, Good health and friends.

  4. What are some things that you have crossed off your bucket list?

Cut back on traveling long distances. Gone for long walks.

  5. When you want to give up, what keeps you going?

I want to continue keeping my house clean and my sweet can Boo-Boo.

  6. What would you do tomorrow if you had a million dollars?

Help those who are struggling to feed their families, and help those who are struggling financially.

Go back to Japan and Hawaii and see all the changes that have taken place since we left. And take our two daughters and their families with us.

Beginning May 1, we will focus on a Community Member of the month.

The following month, there will be a trivia question about the previous community member.

Winner of the trivia question will receive a homemade treat as a prize and bragging rights!
